three curved ceiling sails and the skilful application of colours the designer gave the formerly more modest room a fresh optical view and a significant room acoustic.

At first, it seemed not to be easy to transform the old community hall into a modern meeting room, because the design possibilities habe been very limited. A changement of the ground plan was not possible,

because the rectangular hall with a surface of 60 sqm was too small to be restructured. At the same time the façade on the backside should be preserved as far as possible. Therefore the dimension of freeplanning

concentrated on the ceiling area, which the architect used with skill.

He placed three curved, overlapping ceiling sails, which take up the room illumination and adjust in the same time the acoustic. At the same time, the architect, who is also engaged in cinema productions, applied as design elements colour and light. An indirect illumination at the wall boarding gives the ceiling sails a floating impression. Clear, smooth colours create a harmonic and optimistic room atmosphere.

The realisation of the design ideas was carried out by the company SPR-Bau GmbH, Berlin. The execution of the curved ceiling sails with a radius of five meters had to be planned carefully. The solution was found

with the fixing system K 400 arch form with Protektor Profiles, which allow formed ceiling construction with a bending radius from 0,60 m upwards. In this case the fixing system with Hat-Ceiling profiles and arch form-profiles was used to form the concave bended ceiling sails. The suitable bended Arch Profiles Ref. 5072 have been fixed to the existing old massive ceiling with Nonius hangers and adjusting rods. Afterwards the Hat-Ceiling profiles Ref. 5114 have been fixed cross to the vaults with each time two self-furring screws. The final boarding of the sub construction was realised with Stosilent panels to regulate the room acoustic. The participating parties have proved, that even with limited planning possibilities attractive and creative solutions are possible, when the work is done with engagement and ideas.
